With the support of our families, community experts, and cultural institutions, Joseph Neal will foster a safe and secure atmosphere that embraces curiosity, ingenuity, responsibility, and endurance.
National Elementary Honor Society

Joseph Neal STEAM Academy is a recognized school by the National Elementary Honor Society. NEHS is a student organization designed to recognize outstanding elementary students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship and responsibility. Chapters of NEHS work to develop leadership and promote service to the school and community for their members.
NEHS is a program of the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) in cooperation with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) designed to recognize elementary students in both public and non-public elementary schools for their outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated personal responsibility, to provide meaningful service to the school and community, and to develop essential leadership skills in the students of elementary schools.
Students are recommended by teacher referral. They must maintain a 3.5 GPA and exhibit good school citizenship.
Parents will be notified by letter if their child is nominated. The induction process includes a board interview, in depth application form, references, and several academic and social requirements. Honor society students will participate in leadership training and service oriented projects.
