Howdy folks!

We at Joseph Neal STEAM Academy are promoting reading with a reading program called Accelerated Reader (AR).  AR is from Renaissance.  Students were given a Star reading test to identify their reading level and ZPD reading range.  Students will use this information to find books that are just right for them.  Once they finish reading a book, they will take an AR comprehension quiz.  Students will need to score 75% or higher to pass the quiz.  These AR quizzes will be taken while at school, not at home.  Students will get awards by reaching predetermined goals.   They count how many books they read AND how many words they read.  To get credit for these books, students must read and pass an AR quiz on a book that is at their reading level.
